As I thought about this website, I reflected on my past relationships, experiences, and knowledge learned along the way. As an educator and mentor, I knew I had to share my story on a larger scale. Hence, the Start Living Your New Life blog was birthed.
At some point in our life, we will experience life transformations or transitions. So, what are some of life’s transformations and transitions?
Before getting started on creating the site, I wanted an icon that represents or symbolizes life changes. After many hours of viewing stock pictures and researching symbolism, I chose this picture of a butterfly, ladybug, daisies, and water drops.
First of all, the obvious choice is the butterfly, which goes through its own transformation. It metamorphoses from a caterpillar to a beautiful butterfly. The butterfly symbolizes spirituality, rebirth, transformation, creativity, endless potential, vibrant joy, change, and the ability to experience the wonders of life.
The ladybug, a beetle, is prettier than the others with its red and black polka dot coloring. The ladybug is also a lot simpler, as it appears to be a carefree insect. It symbolizes happiness, good luck, resourcefulness, and a determination to succeed.
To some, a daisy is a beautiful, unique flower. To others, daisies are classified as weeds because they can grow anywhere. They are resistant to most bugs and pesticides. So, why can’t we be more like the daisy? Strong and resilient, especially when facing life’s challenges.
Daisies symbolize love, transformation, cheerfulness, joy, new beginnings, purity, and innocence.
The last symbol is the water drop. Water is essential for life. It makes up 65-70% of the human body. And, it covers over 70% of the Earth’s surface. Water, because of its abundance, has many symbolic meanings. Large bodies of water’s, such as the open sea and ocean and flowing streams and rivers, symbolic meanings are much different than that of water drops.
Water drops symbolize fertility, growth, renewal, blessings, new life or healing life, as well as, creativity, potential, reflection, purification, and transformation.
As you can see, the icon includes a butterfly, ladybug, daisies, and a big water drop. The big water drop re-emphasizes the importance of water to all living things.
Our icon symbolizes, ‘transformation/transition, reflection, creativity, potential, happiness, resilience, and determination to succeed.’ Everything you need to move forward and …
